This weekend has been nothing short of go-go-go for Andy and I! Friday night when I got home from working on a project, we decided that nothing in our empty fridge sounded appetizing, so we headed out to Trader Joe’s to pick up a few things and then swung by one of my favorite restaurants to grab some takeout. Thirty minutes later we were home, playing our favorite card game while eating teriyaki stir fry.
We embraced Saturday bright and early by heading out to the mall before the crowds. I was in search of some new sweaters and ended up with 3 new pairs of shoes instead.

While at the mall, I swung by Godiva to grab my free chocolate truffle for the month–if you’re not a part of their rewards club, definitely sign up! We also stopped in the Apple store to check out the new, super thin iMac’s! One of those will definitely be going on my birthday list this year.
After the mall shenanigans, we grabbed a quick sandwich from Potbelly’s for lunch. Their mushroom melt will forever be my favorite–I was telling Andy I don’t think I’ve ever ordered any sandwich other than that one before!
While we were headed to our next stop, I made a slight reference to the Freeziac that was across the street. Andy immediately hopped into the turn lane, and next thing I knew, we were enjoying some delicious froyo.
We haven’t be there since this Fall because it’s been so chilly out, but sometimes when the craving hits, you just have to go with it. I went with a combination of cake batter, peanut butter, and vanilla froyo topped with Reeses’ Pieces, Heath bits, rainbow sprinkles, and a dollop of hot fudge. It definitely hit the spot!
After our sugar rush, we headed to the eye doctor to pick up my new frames that I ordered the week before Christmas. Happy Holidays to me! My old frames were getting beat up and my lenses had a couple scratches in them so Andy suggested that I order a new pair that fit my style better. I wound up choosing a trendier frame but went with the same brand as my last ones (DKNY) since they held up really well for so many years.
Post glasses pickup, we ran a few more errands (groceries, Marshall’s, etc.) before heading home for the evening. It was freezing out so we welcomed our warm home with open arms as soon as we arrived. I also found the perfect chair for my office–seriously, how cute is this color and pattern? It’s super comfortable too!
The rest of the evening was spent enjoying a cup of hot chocolate from my dreams, reading a great book, and then heading to bed early. Best kind of night!
Yesterday morning, I slept in a bit before heading downstairs to catch up on some invoices and design work. Later on that afternoon, I went house hunting with a friend, said goodbye to our Christmas decorations, and then headed over to a friend’s house for a girl’s night.
It was a busy one in the books but definitely a lot of fun! I’ve got a jam-packed week ahead of me design-wise, but am looking forward to wrapping up a few projects and starting some new ones as well!
Favorite sandwich combo?

I love Potbelly! Their sandwiches are SO yummy! You did have a crazy busy weekend! And yes, I’m totally in love with that chair. Too cute!
Wowza, what a busy and FUN weekend! You look so happy in the pictures of yourself and your eyes are just beautiful! I love that you and Andy got froyo in January … that’s hardcore in my eyes!!
You two are adorable!! I love your coat! I’m getting new glasses this month… Happy Holidays to both of us. eeek.
Thanks! It’s Columbia brand! The pattern on it is what attracted me to it. It could also use a good wash, ha ha.
And take a pic of your new glasses and send it to me! I bet they are going to be cute on you!
That froyo looks so good! And so does the hot chocolate
What a busy weekend! Sounds wonderful!
Love this little “day in the life”! Sometimes the days where you are constantly doing at least something (especially with someone you love!) are the best ones!
I agree! I actually enjoy errands when they’re with my husband since it’s a lot more fun!
