10 Random Facts About Me Vol. 16

1. I almost always choose the same color anytime I get a pedicure. I went to a new salon a couple of weeks ago and went with a different color and it feels so weird to me since my toes are usually pastel pink 99% of the time.

2. I know some people are super particular about the way that the toilet paper is set up on the roll — with the top sheet being either over or under the roll. We’ve never had a preference in our house and I never knew that TP roll preference was actually a thing until someone pointed it out to me a few years ago.

3. We also rarely lose socks in the dryer — I have friends that say this happens to them almost weekly but I think it’s because I always check the corners of fitted sheets and the hoods of hoodies. I feel like this is always where socks end up hiding!

4. I’ve mentioned before that I like to get dressed and ready each day and I recently realized that I do the same with Fletcher. It’s very rare that he will stay in pajamas for the day and I typically put a new outfit on him each morning — this probably explains why we do so much laundry these days. :)

5. Summer is the only season that I don’t enjoy the start of because the humidity comes out of nowhere and I’m never ready for it!

6. I’ve been backed into twice in my gym’s parking lot and both times it was not my fault. I’m thinking a lot of distracted drivers must go to my gym.

7. I put salt on almost everything even before tasting it and I recently read that this might be due to low blood pressure. My friend at work used to tease me because I kept a pink Himalayan sea salt grinder from Costco in my desk drawer.

8. I don’t like snickerdoodle or monster cookies but enjoy almost every other variety out there.

9. My socks always have to match because in my mind, they all fit differently.

10. I’m super weird and requested my delivery report from the hospital and read it cover to cover. I found it to be very interesting to read the “behind the scenes” version of what went down!

Life Lately Vol. 8

Spring is in full-force over here and we have been soaking up every minute of it! I’m doing a life lately post today because I have so many random pictures to share from our last few weeks. Still trying to get back on a regular blogging schedule but between work, Fletcher, hitting the gym, etc. it’s hard to sit down and blog at the end of the day, especially when I’ve been on the computer all day at work.

My sister and I hit some garage sales a few weeks ago, and I found so many great things for Fletcher! Janie & Jack clothes that were new with tags on, Melissa & Doug toy cars, and tons of Fisher Price Little People playsets!

We also scored an awesome playmat for his playroom!

He just loves hanging out up there! He’s also been SO into books and toys lately, so that’s been fun to see him start to “play” and interact with things. He’s also recently found his voice and screeches / talks constantly — especially if we mimic the sounds he makes or read him books.

Allie came to visit us a few weeks ago and it was so fun to have her meet Fletcher! She brought us lots of goodies and we spent the morning / afternoon catching up.

I treated myself to a pedicure the other night to get these toes ready for flip flops, sandals, and wedges now that it’s nice outside!

I recently tried this flavor of kombucha and I think I like it even more than my previous favorite, gingerade! Our local co-op has so many more flavors than the grocery store, so I usually pick up a new one each time I swing in there! They also have a pink lady basil one that sounds amazing — I’ll probably grab that one next time.

Last weekend, Andy, Fletcher, and I headed to a local park to go for a walk. We swung by Starbucks on the way there for a little treat! It had been SO long since I’ve had a frappuccino and I went with the s’mores one!

We walked about 3 miles and really enjoyed this park — it’s one that’s kind of off the beaten trail a bit and really feels like you’re out in the woods rather than in the suburbs!

We’ve also been frequenting the arboretum — Fletcher and I met my auntie there a couple of weeks ago and things were just starting to bloom! We headed back there yesterday and all of the tulips were in their glory and I was living my best life strolling through the gardens with my boys and my favorite cherry almond latte from a local coffee shop!

Fletcher and I went up to Robertson Ranch not too long ago to bring my mom a birthday gift.

He’s always such a trooper on the long car rides — we stopped to pick up some ice cream on the way there and he had so much fun looking around the store as we walked around — it was so funny to see him take it all in!

My parents gave him this little train set and he is obsessed with it! It’s so fun having a little boy that is into all things with wheels and sounds!

We’ve started collecting these Little People playsets for him and he loves looking at them and watching us act out stories with the people!

Alright, Fletcher just woke up from his nap so I’m going to go feed him before we head out for a walk!

Family Date Night

A couple weeks ago, we all headed out for a family date night! It was almost like going on a real date since Fletcher slept the majority of the time. :)

It was way too gorgeous out to stay inside, so our first stop was to the arboretum for a walk!

Not a lot was in bloom yet, but it was fun to walk around.

Fletcher even woke up for a little bit of it and got to enjoy some of the scenery.

We laughed when we saw this picture because we thought Fletcher looked like Casper the Ghost. :)

Afterwards, we swung by Chick-Fil-A to grab dinner and then head home to watch our latest favorite show — The Enemy Within. Andy got me hooked on the show, 24, when we first started dating and this new show reminds me a lot of that one!

My go-to’s at CFA are their southwest salad or the grilled cool wrap! They also have the BEST Oreo milkshakes!

Fletcher James: 3 Months

Height + Weight:
23.75 inches tall and 10lb 6oz! (This was as of early April, he is now 11 lb 4 oz as of 4/24!)

Clothes + Diapers:

In the past month, he has outgrown his newborn clothes and is wearing 3 month clothes now mainly because he was running out of room length-wise. He’s still a little peanut but we have a feeling he’s going to be tall like Andy! We bumped him up to size 1 diapers since the newborn ones kept leaking.

Fletcher has been sleeping through the night a handful of times, but otherwise continues to wake up just once to eat.

We let Fletcher guide us on what he is ready for next, but we still loosely follow the sleep, wake, change diaper, eat, play routine. He eats roughly 4oz every 3ish hours, sometimes more in the evenings. We try to get out of the house at least once a day which makes a huge difference for all of us! I think we were all feeling a little cooped up after the long and cold winter that we had.

He has really “come to life” this month! Fletcher loves watching us do random things like get ready in the morning, empty the dishwasher, etc. He’ll also follow us with his eyes and head if we move around the room. He is a very “happy” boy and is always smiling!

He has discovered his hands and realized that they belong to him — he likes to look at them, touch them together on his tummy, and use them to grasp toys, books, and my hair! ;) I went back to work and Fletcher has enjoyed his days with his “Nanny Annie.” :)

Special Memories:

It’s been so fun to see Fletcher start to play with toys, listen intently while we read him books, roll over, and really look around and observe his surroundings. He got to meet his godparents, Lance and Karen, who are long-time friends of ours. It was also fun to celebrate my birthday with Andy and my little boy this year!

I brought Fletcher with me to my Mom’s Life group a few weeks ago and he enjoyed making flirty faces with all of the girls at my table. He’s also enjoyed going for lots of walks in our neighborhood, visits to the arboretum and visiting his friend Wylder.

Fletcher's First Easter

Last weekend, we celebrated Easter with Andy’s side of the family up at Fletcher’s cousins’ house!

It was so fun to dress Fletcher in his little bunny slippers that our friend Jayme gave him! This little hooded cardigan is one of my favorite articles of clothing that he owns and I’m so sad that this was the last time he wore it! It’s now in a bin of his outgrown clothes on a shelf in our basement that we’ll save for baby #2.

We ate lunch with the family and then Fletcher opened his Easter baskets — he received so many nice gifts from his aunties, uncles, cousins, and grandma!

We took a few family photos and then we were on our way home!

Andy suggested swinging by our favorite froyo shop on the way home and I’ll never say no to that!

On Easter Sunday, some of my family came over for lunch! Fletcher sported his cute little bib that his Auntie and Uncle gave him!

My mom made her famous chicken parmesan, along with some cheesy bread, and a few veggie sides. We made a replica of the classic Olive Garden salad, and raspberry lemon bars! I used the same recipe for our favorite cranberry bars and just added white chocolate chips, raspberries, and lemon zest instead of cranberries!

My parents brought Fletcher a fun little Easter basket filled with all kinds of goodies like bubbles, a stuffed bunny, and a ton of books!

We also snapped a few family photos of us to add to his baby book!

After lunch, we all went for a walk to the park where we sat outside for awhile to enjoy the gorgeous day. It was upper 70s and sunny and we kept saying how long it has been since we have had a beautiful Easter Sunday like this one.

Once everyone left, we took Fletcher around the house to “look” for his Easter basket since we didn’t have time that morning.

He loved opening his gifts with dad!

We’ve started a tradition to get him a card for each holiday and Andy always chooses a great one for Fletcher!

My mom used to always take flat lays of our gifts when we were little and I always loved looking back at previous years’ gifts so I’ve started doing this for Fletcher, too.

Fletcher just entered Leap 4 (Wonder Weeks) and has been SO into books lately! He loves to hold them and try to turn the pages all by himself.
