Smoothie Break

Not going to lie, I'm really excited about the fact that this is the last week of January -- is it just me or has this been the longest month ever? Christmas seems like it was ages ago and I'm attributing this long month to the fact that we've had some really cold days that just seem to drag on.

We skipped our Friday evening date night and decided to reschedule for another night -- I was feeling exhausted from the week and Andy had plans to run up to school to check out his student's senior exhibition at the gallery opening. Normally, I enjoy tagging along, but after suffering though a headache for the past week, I was spent by Friday evening.

By day six of the headache, I went to the doctor and she said it was due to tight neck muscles -- who would have thought that that could cause such a horrible headache. She showed me some massages to do while at work, and between those and using my Panaway roller ball, it has greatly improved.

On Saturday we were up bright and early for a meeting -- we stopped by the library on the way so that I could pick up my books that were on hold. I'm SO excited about both of these -- I already started Bread & Wine on Saturday evening and it is so good! It has me so excited about hosting dinners and gatherings!

By the time things wrapped up, it was almost 2pm and we were both starving! We swung by Berry Blendz (similar to a Jamba Juice) on the way to Costco. I ordered my favorite Luscious Lemon flavor and chose the new "all fruit" option --meaning they add more fruit and skip the sherbet. SO GOOD -- I think it's a mix of lemons, limes, raspberries, and blueberries -- whatever the combo is, it's my all-time fave since it's the perfect mix of sweet and sour. I think it's been a year since my last Berry Blendz smoothie and it totally hit the spot!

Afterwards, we hit Costco for our weekly haul and then headed back home. I read for a bit and then put together some soup and a salad before heading out to the gym for a shoulder + triceps workout. 

I've been trying to keep my Sundays open for laundry, meal prep, the gym, and relaxing before starting a fresh week. So far, I feel like having this day of prep really helps me to start the next week feeling refreshed.
