The sun has been shining so much the last few days and it is making me feel SO hopeful for spring! Having fresh tulips on our kitchen island and the sunlight streaming through the windows has felt so good after so many cold and gray days this winter.
This past weekend was both a productive and relaxing one — since we’ve started to transition to spring weather, I’ve been on a spring cleaning kick! There’s just something about starting your Monday with a clean house that feels so nice!
On Friday, Andy took over baby duty so I could sneak off to the gym for a workout! Before hitting the gym, I swung by Target to grab diapers along with a birthday gift for my sister. My sister and I both have birthdays this week — which still blows my mind because I feel like they snuck up on me this year!
I did a back and biceps workout at the gym and it felt amazing because there were literally like 10 people on the entire floor. I love working out when the gym is empty like this — it’s so much easier to focus and you don’t have to wait for any of the weights!
Upon arriving home, I had a snack and watched tv with Andy before calling it a night. The next morning, I was up bright and early before my sister picked me up to attend an event at church. On the way home, we swung by Dairy Queen to take advantage of their BOGO for 99 cents deal. I hadn’t had DQ in forever, and my mini salted caramel truffle Blizzard hit the spot!
Later that afternoon, Andy worked on a house project while I watched Fletcher and caught up on some shows. I also did some cleaning in the kitchen which felt so good — there’s just something about having clean countertops!
We also snapped a few pics of us with Fletcher and decided to take a selfie since it had been awhile! We need to go out on a date sometime soon, too — seeing this picture reminded me that it has been awhile since we’ve been out!
Fletcher has been enjoying lots of tummy time lately so we spent a good chunk of the afternoon playing with toys and books on the living room floor as well.
I ended up taking a nap once he was finished and it felt SO good! After dinner, we gave Fletcher a bath and he was so calm and cuddly afterwards!
He just loves it when we comb his hair after his bathtime!
I put some baby bedtime lotion on him, dressed him in a fleecy sleep sack, and then we read books in his room for awhile. Afterwards, I fed Fletcher while Andy and I watched a movie together — more like started a movie before we were both too tired to finish it!
The next morning, I ran an errand, attended the parenting class at church, and then did some more cleaning while Andy ran to Home Depot and the gym. Fletcher was cool as a cucumber while I vacuumed, did some laundry, and wrapped up my sister’s birthday gift.
Once Andy arrived home, I dropped off Andrea’s gift and headed to the gym — only to park and then turn around because my phone was almost dead and I decided I needed a nap more than a workout. I ended up sleeping for 3.5 hours, woke up to eat dinner, and then went right back to bed. It felt amazing!
It’s birthday week around these parts, so that paired with all of this sunshine and promises of 60 degrees is really lifting my spirits right now!
When is your birthday?
Have there been signs of spring where you live?
