We were so excited to be part of Allie and Christian's big day! Katie, Kelsey, Colleen, Heidi, Erin, Kelly, and I had so much fun celebrating with the couple and their family + friends!
Their ceremony and reception were at the Science Museum of Minnesota -- it was so neat to see the museum transformed into a wedding venue! As we were walking out later that evening, we joked how it felt like we were in the Night at the Museum movie since it was dark and a little eerie in there once all of the guests had cleared out.
Yesterday, I left off just before the ceremony -- which was absolutely beautiful. Allie and Christian's officiant shared special stories about the couple and also touched on the significance of their August 7th wedding date. Long story short, Allie was in a really bad accident two years ago to that day and it was so neat to see the story come full circle by having her and Christian join in marriage on this exact day.
Allie and Christian decided not to do a first look, so they whisked away for photos together after the ceremony. There was a cocktail hour for the guests during this time and it was fun to see some familiar faces!
During this time, I met up with Andy and we mingled with guests before it was time to be seated for dinner. Doesn't he look so handsome in his wedding date attire?!
We also used this time to grab some photos together outside on the rooftop deck! The weather seriously could not have been more perfect -- sunny and no humidity!
The views up there were incredible -- especially later that evening once the sun started setting. That's the Mississippi river in that photo above!
I feel like whenever you attend a wedding, the evening goes by slowly, but whenever I've been in a wedding -- the night goes by so quickly! Following dinner was a champagne toast and the speeches -- this is always one of my favorite parts of a wedding because you get to hear the hearts of those close to the bride and groom.
Shortly after, there were first dances, which were so incredibly sweet! I'm just so happy for Allie and Christian! They are seriously so perfect for each other!
The bridesmaids and I headed out to the dance floor once the official dances were done. I'm not normally a social dancer (despite growing up taking dance classes), but I had the best time once my friend Katie convinced me to join in!
Soon after, Allie and Christian cut their cake together before we all had dessert. Everyone wanted to capture this moment as shown in the picture above. :)
After dessert, we all headed back outside for some group photos with the couple and their families.
The rest of the evening flew by quickly and before we knew it, it was time to line up outside for the sparkler send-off!
After they drove away in their getaway car, we helped clean up the dressing room before heading out with a bunch of the bridesmaids and my friend Colleen's family for drinks and apps at The St. Paul Grill.
It was a late night, but I'm so glad that we got to spend a couple more hours with our friends before they all flew home the next morning!
