A Weekend of R&R

This past weekend consisted of a lot of R&R and it felt so good to recharge after a busy week! This weekend felt so short after our long holiday weekend last week, but it was still a good one!

We started our weekend by catching up while enjoying some snacks and playing our favorite game, ever. Snack trays are one of my favorite things ever -- anyone else? Also, if you haven't tried these yet, you are seriously missing out! They're my new favorite flavor!

Afterwards, we headed out for a quick walk down by the lake for some fresh air before heading back to the house to start season two of Quantico. In typical fashion, I fell asleep ten minutes into the second episode -- I was up super early that morning to run before it got hot outside and I was beat by the end of the day!

On Saturday morning, I headed out for a walk around the neighborhood before hitting the pool at the club. That guac in the photo above was definitely on it's last leg since it was from the night before, but it still hit the spot for a poolside snack.

Andy joined me at the pool after his workout and I stayed there till almost 5pm because this book, Big Little Lies, was SO good! I had started it that morning and finished it that same evening! Once I had showered and arrived home from the pool, I walked down to the lake to read outside for a bit longer -- it was too nice outside to be indoors!

Now that I've finished the book, I'm onto the tv series on HBO. I'm very much an all-or-nothing kind of girl, so of course I had to watch the series immediately after finishing the book!

Andy had plans on Sunday, so I had a quiet morning at home doing a bunch of loads of laundry and tidying up a bit before heading out to run some errands. I had a return to make at Nordstrom and ended up finding something new to come home with me while I was there because they have everything you never knew you ever needed and more.

Side note -- I'm one of those people that generally very decisive and probably make a return less than five times per year. I had purchased a sports bra a month or so ago and then ended up changing my mind because the thicker straps just didn't look good when paired with my athletic tanks.

After the mall, I ran to Target, Trader Joe's for a basil plant (and bunch of other foodie items because it was 4pm and I was starving), and finally swung by Home Depot to purchase some potting supplies.

One of my goals for the month was to repot my Christmas cactus which has gotten too big for its britches, and it felt so good to cross that off the list so early in the month! While I was there, I also decided to replant my mum plant, and put my new basil plant in a sturdier pot. I know zero things about gardening, so I made friends with a cute little old lady that worked in the garden center. She recommended this potting mix, so I'm crossing my fingers that my plants enjoy their spacious new homes.

It's Sunday evening as I'm typing out this post and the rest of my night will most likely consist of some more episodes of Big Little Lies, a manicure, and a blended protein shake made with my favorite mocha mix + grass-fed whey protein powder + unsweetened almond milk + ice.

P.S. I'm participating in a link-up today, so be sure to check out more weekend posts here!
