Relationships Survey

Today I’m linking up with The Blended Blog for their monthly survey and this month is all about relationships!

1. Who is your oldest friend/how did you meet?
My sister is my friend that I’ve known the longest but outside of family, my I met my bestie when I was 13! Actually, now that I think about it, my auntie is actually my oldest friend because she has known me since birth — so, almost 31 years!

2. Tell us about your circle of support.  Who are your people?
This is something I’d really like to prioritize this year, especially now that we have a little baby in our family! I feel like my friendships have changed and evolved over the years depending on what season of life I’m in. Some friends have been for just a season or two, while others have been in it for the long haul.

Andy, my aunt, sister, and close friends are my core circle of support and the first that I go to in times of joy or challenge. This year I’ve also connected with a great group of girls in my Mom’s Life (MOPs) group at church and their encouragement, friendship, and advice has been so valuable during my pregnancy and now life as a new mom. I am also so thankful for the neighborhood that we live in — there is a great group of girls that live on our street and they are so good about getting together regularly! We’ve only lived here for 6 months, but they’ve made us feel so welcomed and I’ve reached out to them about so many things already — from breastfeeding questions to who can help me track down some Girl Scouts to buy cookies from this month! :)

3. How did you meet your partner?
Andy and I met when he attended a portfolio review at my school — I ended up interning at the book design firm where he worked and the rest is history! I’ll have to share our full story on the blog sometime but you can read more about how we met, along with an overview of a few of the other relationships in my life in this post.

4. How is Valentine's Day celebrated in your home?
Andy and I used to go to Buca every year for Valentine’s Day but after some sub-par service the last two years, we are thinking about switching things up this year! Plus we are still trying to decide if we should bring Fletcher with us on our Valentine’s Date or get a babysitter for the evening! Valentine’s is definitely one of those overrated holidays but I seriously love it! We always get each other a card and a small gift or two, so we will most likely continue that tradition with Fletcher as well! You can see what he is getting for Valentine’s Day in this post!

5. What is your love language?
It’s a tie for quality time and words of affirmation

6. Do you prefer receiving flowers or chocolates?
I love flowers (especially tulips), but wouldn’t turn down chocolates either — especially if they are Lindt or Godiva!

7. What is the most meaningful gift you have ever received or given?
Little Fletcher!

P.S. I’m also linking up with Kristen today.

Choose a question or two above and answer it below — I’d love to read your responses!
